Join Us: Embedded Software Developer

Direct Conversion AB (publ) develops and manufactures next generation X-ray and gamma ray imaging devices. Our office is in Espoo, Finland, but we operate worldwide. We have headquarters at Stockholm, and subsidiaries in Helsinki, London and Munich. Direct Conversion offers a dynamic, challenging and rewarding opportunity to work with unique state-of-the-art technology in X-ray imaging for medical and industrial applications. Direct conversion is part of the Varex Imaging Group, the world’s largest manufacturer of flat panel X-ray detectors.

We’re looking for a new member at our Espoo location to expand our talented and highly motivated multisite R&D team.

You will be developing our future X-ray imaging products and their manufacturing systems as an Embedded SW Developer. You will work as an integral part of our R&D team, with wide scope, from close HW embedded software to application software interfaces, calibration/tuning routines to optimization of algorithms. This offers you a great opportunity to broaden your software design skills as well as to learn new things in hardware integration and science.

Your Role

*Design and implement SW for embedded Linux systems in Python and C, including Linux kernel drivers
*Design, develop, test, and debug system software
*Develop automated system testing
*Interface with hardware and firmware design and development
*Support system debugging

About You

*A few years’ experience of embedded software development
*Hands on experience in developing and verifying embedded software in Linux environment
*Fluent in Python and C
*Experience in implementing Linux kernel drivers
*Familiar with Git repositories, CI pipelines and Software testing
*Not afraid to make electrical measurements (e.g. oscilloscope)
*Basic knowledge of hardware design would be a plus
*B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in relevant area, e.g., electrical or SW engineering
*Good communication and interaction skills in English
